Litigation > Employment

We provide advice and litigation support on all aspects of employment law to both employers and employees. We have considerable experience in such matters as unfair dismissal, redundancy, discrimination (such as age, sex, race and disability discrimination) and working terms and conditions. Should a hearing before an Employment Tribunal become necessary we can prepare the case and either represent you or instruct a specialist employment law barrister to appear for you. We also deal extensively with Compromise Agreements on behalf of both employers and employees. Early and decisive advice is essential in employment matters. We strongly recommend advice is taken by:

  • employers particularly before dismissal occurs since even a dismissal on reasonable grounds such as redundancy may be rendered unfair by not following the correct procedures. Employers are also encouraged to ensure contracts of employment and Staff Handbook / policies are kept up to date.
  • employees particularly within a very short time of any breach of contract or discriminatory act since short time limits may prevent complaints being brought at a later date
  • employers or employees before taking any irrevocable step as the consequences of getting it wrong can be very costly
